So the one week I have time to ride again and get out and compete murphy looses a shoe! Now I was thinking that seeing as he has good solid hooves he'd be alright being schooled in the field still? Or is this a big no no..... I wouldn't hack him or hunt just a calm schooling sesson should be alright....

Before anyone shoots me my farrier has said it's alright before! Just intrested in your veiws on riding when horses have lost shoes (:

I personally wouldn't, not because i have anything against working without shoes on (ours are barefoot) but beacuse of the imbalance that it would cause. However, if I only had fronts on, and one came off and the horse wasn't sore, then I would whip the other one off and get on with it!

Oh dear- I must be tired...

I looked at the title and wondered why a. You'd ride without your show on and b. why it was an issue !!!! Lol!!!!!

Anyway, as long as Neddy is sound I'd be happy to ride on soft ground or in a manège :)
