Hi All,
We had our little Rig pony gelded last week, the operation was difficult the vet ended up having to make an extra hole to get everything out.. but successful.
I just wondered how quickly you would expect the swelling to go down? I've only had normal geldings before. He has been prescribed box rest and walking in hand which we are doing and is taking his antibiotics, but still looks REALLY swollen (But no outward signs of infection) I know he needs to be kept quiet so that it can heal, but I can't help wondering if he'd be better moving about.
Will be phoning vet tomorrow for another update anyway, but just wondered how swollen you'd expect him to be after op on Thursday.. should I be really worried?? I reckon his sheath is probably twice/three times but its normal size its difficult to say.. it might look worse than it is??
