Does anybody have any idea how the hell it works? I've just read their website and am none the wiser! It seems I have to pay £14.99 just to be able to contact a seller to ask a few questions, which is ridiculous! The horse I'd like to know about probably isn't going to be right (nothing but jumping photos and they're a bit :oops:) but it's worth a phonecall to be sure - but not at £15! How does anyone ever sell a horse on there?
 
I once paid to enquire about a loan horse and in the end the owner never got back to me. It was a very nice horse and I suspect it had a ton of enquiries however it really miffed me off that I had paid £15 (or whatever it was!) for nothing and vowed never to even look on it again even when I was looking to buy (in case I was tempted!)
 
I stuck a wanted ad on there without paying anything. Not heard from anyone mind... I blamed it on being 1) in Cornwall and 2) wanting something very particular! (Supersafe cuddly semi-retired 15-16hh mare!)

It gives the location map of the horse. Surely without too much digging around you could find where the horse was kept and just approach the vendor directly?

I had to smile at the one advert which talks about a mare and states 'she has had her lady bits cleaned by the willy washer'. I wonder if someone is actually in business and registered at companies house as 'the Willy Washer Ltd'. Ha ha I really did LMAO when I read that.
 
It seems the biggest con going to try and get buyers/loaners to pay a fee to enquire about a horse! You could pay £15 just to find out the horse had been sold/rehomed without the advert being updated. Just daft.
 
I got really cross with the site and posted on FB when ads for horses from it started to appear there too. I then got very shirty replies and emails about the "transparency" of the site and the charges.

Why on earth would you pay as a buyer to see information on a horse? It is madness.

He's a bit too far away for me to know anyone in the area and the map just points to the centre of Carmarthen! As I said he's worth a phonecall if it's easy / free but I'm not too hopeful about him as the jumping pics aren't great and it would worry me that if their judgement is poor enought to think that's a good photo, I'd question what the rest of his education is like. A phonecall might allay those concerns but I wouldn't pay £15 or go out of my way to find out on the off chance.

to name but a few! I wonder if they have branded workwear! I love it! :D
 
I used it to make enquiries when I was looking for most recent horse. Experiences included talking to a mad person who wasn't prepared to demonstrate their horse for you and wouldn't let you lunge before you get on but expected you to just jump on a strange horse...if you wanted to buy it, it was the high end of standard market rate for a well schooled, well bred, competing fit warmblood...except it wasn't...

The only one I went to see was a lovely old boy but who was blatantly carrying an old injury and was being sold for selfish reasons by a woman who had her own land and stables ....that broke my heart so I gave up

I tried them in their early days - to sell a horse. NADA for months - and it cost while I sold the horse through FB. Wouldn't touch them now - they obviously haven't changed (or improved.)

Maybe someone is employed as The Willy Washer!
I did email them once asking if I could ask a couple of questions about a horse. My email was ignored.

How on earth would they know if someone bought a horse? Seems like a bizarre way to try and make money and one that wont work. They should just charge a little for advertising the horse in the first place and be done with it
 
I have used them I wanted to see a particular pony, I found it difficult to contact the owner but i eventually did so by ringing the managers of the web site and then the pony owner rang me back. I did pay 14.99 to place a wanted advert which I found all over the place including Face Book which I don't"subscribe" to. I did not like the wording of their advert either so I rang and asked them to take it off straight away. I went to see the pony that I had originally found and it was not at all suitable ( though I did feel rather sorry for it as it had been spoilt beyond belief by previous / present owner). I feel fairly neutral about them, they can't "vet" every horse on their books, there may be some good ones there! The ladies I spoke to tried to be helpful and they were polite and helped me fill in the form required.
