Yesterday I gave a car driver my right of way, he was wanting to overtake us and a parked car. I tucked my horse neatly behind the parked car and waved the driver on as luck would have it a leaf turned over and normally bomb proof steed stepped into the path of the car, he was hot from a long trot, we all had plenty of time to react and nothing bad happened. Point being if i had obeyed the rule of right of way and had not been considerate the situation ie stepping, out would not have arisen. I'm the last person to wish to thrust rules at people but, on our ever crowded island conformity of behaviour on horse back is desirable before, god forbid, it becomes mandatory.
you give way to the slower vehicle/animal/person. I always ask that cyclists cough or something on the approach but the gangs of cyclists you see about are always shouting about something anyway-they don't like potholes apparently
Hen, if i heard a cough behind me i would assume it was an utterance from my horse. But I'm with you on pot hole shouting and cyclists they obviously don't mix.
