Right rein canter

So I have recently been struggling with canter on the right rein. The horse seems to struggle to pick it up and/or will go on the wrong lead. Eventually, we get the right lead and she will canter on the right rein without breaking once we get the right lead.

I think it’s me and my position as I’ve noticed I perch a little on her when asking, but it’s only been happening for the past week or so. Before that, we were getting better transitions each time.

ETA: she is only 5 so could it be a growth spurt?

Could be a strength thing but as it's only on one rein my alarm bells are ringing.

Lunge her and see if she does it without a rider and with and then without saddle. Might tell you whether it's you, the saddle fit, or there's something wrong.

I don’t really canter her on the lunge as she’s so young and struggles a bit - she always has
