My boy's always been worse on the right rein but just recently I've brought him back into work and it's far worse than it used to be. I used to be able to 'correct' it and soften him up.
I had a fall shortly before I took him out of work, which damaged my back and I think this may be adding to the problem.
I realised tonight when trying to get him to bend on a circle that I'm having trouble as well! I can't bring my outside (left) shoulder forward, let my hips move when in walk and keep my inside leg on the girth and outside leg slightly behind. Instead my hips end up pointing the other direction to his shoulders and we end up with straight lines on our circle.
No problem on the left rein, everything works as it should.
I don't know how to correct it - should I just work throught it, trying my hardest or are there any exercises I can do before riding to loosen myself up?
Grateful for any advice!
