ive decided that im going to make a stand and want anyone who has a rambo duo to give their opinion on the front velcro.

how long did it stay sticky for and does it stay done up?

thanks for your help

i just love my rambo rugs!! velcro does have a limited lifespan and needs to be kept clean. cheap to replace! mine stay done up just fine! sorry not what you wanted to hear!

No problem with the velcro on the front of mine (1 year old now), but the lower velcro strap on the hood, doesn't and never has stayed done up.

I bought mine 2nd hand 3 years ago and the seller said she only used it for one winter. The velcro at the front was full of long winter hair and didn't stick even when I cleaned most of it out with a brush.

I simply sewed new velcro over the old, must have cost 50p in velcro and a bit of hard work hand sewing through the existing velcro. Its worked brillantly for 3 years and is still fine.

I think the velcro on all rugs has problems - my mares WB is no longer sticking and needs renewing.

Sorry-again, not what you want to hear but mine is going into it's third winter and the velcro is fine

However, the neck cover could do with being a size larger but have acquired new horsey that fits inside the neck cover so will shortly have to acquire new Duo rug (next size up!) for horse that has handed his down. I love the Duo rug.

ETA: Due to our non-existent summers up here, the outer is in use almost all year round when required.

if i could actually get it done up on either one of my cobs, i could let you know - bliddy useless for anything with a shoulder!!

My velcro works just fine I'm afraid! Maybe there were a few duff batches or summat? I need to arrange to buy a larger neck cover, but have to figure out what size I need first as the one it came with just said 6'3" (as per the actual rug size), but places who sell them individually list them as S/M/L/XL!

if you want an alternative to the rambo duo, try the fal commander. i have had mine since they first came out. and it still does exactly what it says on the tin. same system as the duo, under rug, plus outer rug, neck cover, and belly flap. got mine on the rugs4u website for £160 years ago though. fantastic rug.

I have 2 duos and the velcro my girl's one always stays done up but my boy's often comes undone. His is quite a bit newer and I got it just as they went up in price so maybe they changed something when they did this as every one else I know who has an older duo has no problems at all with them.
