RIHS

Again i think its a realy shame that people are so fixated on exactly what ring you jumped in. Yes its a shame no one is denying that but it was still a final that they all worked hard to qualify for, but at the end of the day it was still a NATIONAL final. and tbh ive seen many a good pony go into the international arena and get eliminated due to the grandure of the arena and the pressure.
I would have been glad for my horse to compete on SAFE ground and come back in one piece then complain about what ring we jumped in.

I think this is slightly petulant behaviour - having had every event for the last 6 weeks cancelled at the last minute for eventing I think you are lucky that the RIHS is still going. I appreciate that its a big thrill to be in the main ring at Hickstead but come on do you honestly have me believe that you are ONLY contesting these competitions to be in the main ring. It is a very difficult time for horse sport at the moment and a unusually very wet summer I am sure attitudes like this do not make it any easier. I could understand your gripes if the weather was good and the ground was standing up but considering 30mm of rain fell yesterday in some areas of the country I am surprised they have not just given up.

In response to Iec's comment.

The weather WAS good, the going WAS perfect, but they still changed it.

They did tell people the day before IT WOULD DEFINATELY RUN IN THE MAIN RING, then it changed, even though the going was good and the weather perfect !!!

That is the whole point being made, we are not whinging, griping, or whatever else you want to call it, we are mearly saying WHY ?

After giving their word on Tuesday it would run with no ring changes on Wednesday, they got you there, then they changed the goal posts.

Adults may accept it, but if you go to the trouble of calling them to find out and they assure the children that all is OK the the disappointment for the children is unfair.

And no, some of them would not have travelled the 6, 7, 8, 9 hours to get there if they had been told the truth, RIHS or not.

Some of you may not understand the logic in that, but hey, who are we to question peoples decisions - all I started out saying was - how many people were bitterly disappointed in the treatment they received.

I rest my case
