This is a Ringmaster message on behalf of Horse Watch and Farm Watch from
Bedfordshire Police.

A burglary took place at a Riding Stables in Silver Street in Stevington,
overnight on the 13th to the 14th of November.

The offenders attempted to enter a tack room.

The offenders then entered a field with 22 horses and ponies.

Tails have been removed from at least 10 of the ponies.

All of the ponies affected had white and black hair, any ponies with red or
more whispy tails were left untouched.

Only 1 of the ponies received slight injuries.

Bedfordshire Police ask all owners, or keepers, of horses and ponies to be
vigilant, especially if they are kept outside at night.

Please report any suspicious visitors, vehicles, or persons enquiry about
ponies immediately.

I hope they don't come up here!! Beau has a lovely tail which would prob be ideal

Have they cut the tails of the horses they might come back and steal? It can be used to identify which ones are to be taken at a later date. I hope that this isn't the case but they would be wise to keep a lookout for a few weeks.
 
It was the place where I thought (where my son's old pony is). They only chopped the tails off the ponies that didn't have their tails trimmed. The horses are all extremely old and no one in their right mind would steal them. They are not even worth meat money. Because they only chopped either black or white tails and left the rest, it is 99% certain they will be sold for rocking horse hair. My son's pony was not touched as her tail is trimmed (and I think she would have taken a very dim view of someone approaching her with scissors in the field!)
