am I overreacting?
there has been an outbreak of ringworm and it appears that none of the infected horses/ponies have been isolated.
one of mine now has little patches around his muzzle where he's missing hair but it isn't crusty yet.
I am raging as he is supposed to be going to boot camp on Tuesday and this will now have to be delayed.

I have isolated him and started treating as if it is ringworm until I can get the vet out to confirm it. Hopefully this will be tomorrow if they can fit us in.
I've also made a point of telling the people that have stables near B that he may be infected and not to touch him.

gah  Am I within my rights to be annoyed?
Is there anything else I can do to make sure he doesn't pass it on?

I believe some racing yards just let it run its course....

The vet will probably give you an anti fungal shampoo, and caneston, just be vigilant washing your hands etc.

Its actually not that bad. It is highly contagous but it is only a fungal infection. Irritating but I wouldnt be furious. I would tell people my horse had it if they had to handle him and dont share rugs grooming kit etc

I caught it off a horse on the yard  it cleared up pretty quick

oh they all have their own grooming kits etc and I've made sure everyone knows so they shouldn't be touching him unless there's an emergency.
I think I'll be putting a big sign on his door to stop people touching him for the time being.

The timing is awful - if it is ringworm then the training yard will be getting less than 24hrs notice to say he isn't coming but better safe than sorry.

I was rather peed off earlier but I've calmed down now :o
thankfully :D
