What does it look like and whats best to get it under control. The herd at the yard have had what they vet thought was mange so gave them all a detramax (sp) vaccination which did nothing. Another vet came out today and said it looks like Ringworm and took a hair sample from bold scalely patches will no def answer in about 10 days time, but was just wondering what peoples experiance with it is??

grey/brown bald patches indoor cattle often get it, grisofulcin (sp) in feed helps but disapears when turned out, often ignored by farmers just a nuisance.

Will not harm to use imaverol i keep it in after horse had it twice. Once you have treated horse , tack, rugs, washed stable walls etc you can when all ringworm is dead and no new ones are appearing rub aloe vera and bee propolis cream in to the bare patches and will heal and grow hair quickly. It spreads very quickly if you have other horses i would wash them to.

Dectomax is great for feather mites but won't touch ringworm which is a fungal infection. It's fairly easy to clear up and good hygeine and management should keep it at bay as long as it isn't rife throughout your yard as it's very easily passed from horse to horse. Take care because it's just as easily passed from horse to human!!!!!

when ours had it from cows on farm we just used daktacort(sp) from chemist and it cleared it up.just try isolate horse and dont cross contaminate x

Ringworm is a common fungal infection, often seen in cows that are kept indoors in the winter. When they get turned out for a while in the sun it goes away. I had it once and was prescribed Canesten cream.

There are different types but you treat them the same.

My new horse had it in several places. I used different treatment on different areas to see which worked.

Stuff from vets works well. Aloe vera get works So does athletes foot spray/cream. I also gave aloe vera juice too
So you could say I truly attacked it as I know it can be a real pain to get rid of as it keeps coming back. So far 8wks no sign of it

You need to make sure everything is treated rugs/ saddles etc.

The pound shop had the spray (the good one) I used it to spray inside rugs etc Also used it actually on my horse just make sure it didn't spread.
