Just to add to current sh**
I think my horse has ringworm.
How’s it even possible, he’s been off work even hacking for ages.
I wasn’t at the racing yard for 2 weeks prior to it appearing.
The horses I work with weekdays haven’t been off their own land in 2 years.
It looks very much like ringworm (seen a fair bit of it with work) is it possible?
Nb- all fencing and stables were new when we moved here, I know it can lie dormant for years but can’t be that.
Farrier? Vet?

I treated myself in the run up to my wedding to a fancy (and expensive) dead sea scrub thing with the idea I'd have lovely skin for the wedding. I got ringworm from it! You have my sympathy as its such a nightmare of a thing, I washed in malaseb for a few weeks which sorted it out. But it can come from the weirdest things

Really?! That is super odd. Incredibly annoying too I bet you were quite panicky!

Any neighbouring cattle? Don't forget, you can catch it too, if it is Ringworm...

Maybe 2 miles away at the closest.

I’ve got some skinsure which says anti fungal and effective against ringworm so am going to go and douse him in that.
He has a few more suspect patches when I checked at lunchtime having just got them in quickly this morning I didn’t really look properly, best check the others I guess.
Luckily I’ve never caught it *touch wood! We had it really quite badly at work a few times and I was chief treater! *yaaaay

It has been very warm and a lot are sweating, if then rug it's perfect conditions for it to grow. My cattle get it along their sweat line creases every spring, it dries up in the summer.

It is warm isn’t it, even today I’m still warm. He’s not rugged much though, a LW at night, that’s about it.
It’s only his neck though so at first I blamed fly bites, it could still be but the raised bumps are turning a bit scabby which is a bit suspect!
He does get bumps from flies but they just go down quickly usually.
