Rio Olympics long is list out

Delighted to see Tim Stockdale has been long listed! Am a huge fan of his and think in the past he's always been a bit unlucky.

Eventing and Dressage were pretty much as I expected - will be very interesting to see who makes the final cut though!!

My first thought is that you're a mind-reader, I came on here to see if anyone knew about the longlist!
 
From a quick scan, my only immediate surprise is that Persimmon isn't on the eventing list.
 
I'm not surprised- none of Oli's are up there atm and reliable.
I reckon Gemma, William, Tina and possibly Pippa for teaM?

I think that would be my guess too.

I'm a bit gutted for Oli. He's been riding so well. If he had something that show jumped he'd be up there, his dressage and Xc is spot on.
 
He didn't complete Luhmulen on either of his rides, one retirement, one withdrawl after xc which is a shame, as you say Honey, he's got the ability.

I'm going for an all girl team of Gemma, Tina, Kitty and Pippa.
 
And didn't complete as not presented at the trot up which strongly suggests he picked up an injury however minor.
The olympics is just too soon for Ollie unfortunately.
 
No Andrew Nicholson in the Kiwi team, which as a Kiwi I just don't get.

He has had an on-going spat with ESNZ and I have to wonder if they were hoping his accident would have kept out of contention. However his results since he started competing again suggest he is back to his best.

IMHO ESNZ are cutting off their noses to make a point .....

They are, but they've got strength in depth enough to allow them to do it!

They are in a stalemate with neither side willing to budge. Leave them to it!
It's a shame not to be seeing AN at Rio though. Kiwi team should be pretty strong regardless
 
William, izzy , kitty and gema eventing, Charlotte, Carl, Fiona and spencer dressage, Michael , John, Ben and Nick show jumping.
I like all those teams I'm excited

Hmmmm....difficult..... I adore WFP.... John Whitaker is the best horseman I have EVER seen in any discipline.... right for these Olympics? I'm not sure.... :( :(
