Actually i'm not sure if it says she was just about to be put in foal, or to have a foal
Either way, tragic loss to breeding.

According to what it says in Danish, they were hoping on a future carrier in breeding but I can't figure out if they mean that they intended to put her in foal later this year or if she was already expecting a foal this year.
It also says that she was put out in her field in the morning as usual, together with her friend the gelding Blue Hors Cavan. Later someone passing by noticed there was something really wrong with the white horse in the field and went into the stable and alerted the staff about it.
A veterinarian was quickly on the scene but her right forelimb was broken at the knee and there was nothing to do but euthanize.
At the end of the text, they say that it is with great sorrow that they've had to say farewell to their magnificent mare.
Echo all, she was magical - she seemed to dance with real joy and musicality. A desperately sad loss to all her connections and to the equestrian world. Thank you, though, Violet for posting that gorgeous recent picture - she and Cavan looked so happy
R.I.P what a terrible loss of such a great horse, we were lucky to see a horse like her in our life time.
Her 2006 Kur will always remain for me the pinnacle of Dressage training.
It may not have been the best or most accurate test, but it was one of the most relaxed, fluent and happiest tests I have had the pleasure of watching.

hear hear, there was no tension, she looked really happy to be strutting her stuff. utterly magical.
I think that's a nice way to express it, and when we remember that the last months since August last year she spent in the company of her horse friends. Such a star, but also something so touching that she could just be 'a horse' as well. Bless Matine, beautiful girl!
A star in horse heaven....
Her performance at WEG, though I did not witnessed it live, made me bawl my eyes out like a baby....it was as though she was genuinely dancing to the music and expressing herself. Beautiful, beautiful little girl....dance freely in the meadows in the sky.
I was devastated by this when I heard but have only just spotted this thread - she had incredible presence and was a real star! What a tragic loss of a gorgeous and talented mare
