My 5 yo Clyde wasn't waiting at the gate with my other lads tonight. I went up the bank and he was laid there stone cold dead
He wasn't sweaty or coverd in mud from rolling like you would expect if it was colic. There were only a couple of scrapes where he had tried to get up and a pile of dung which had come out whilst he was down. If anyone has any ideas what happend I would love to know.
I am in a state of shock and totaly mystified. He was totaly normal this morning. Nothing different from normal. He had driven beautifuly this morning and now he is gone.
He was a 1 in a million, soft gentle kind unflappable lad. It looks like it was all over quickly.
Thank you for reading this. Writing it has made me feel better. It hurts like hell because I have had him since he was weaned.
