RIP Clyde

My 5 yo Clyde wasn't waiting at the gate with my other lads tonight. I went up the bank and he was laid there stone cold dead

He wasn't sweaty or coverd in mud from rolling like you would expect if it was colic. There were only a couple of scrapes where he had tried to get up and a pile of dung which had come out whilst he was down. If anyone has any ideas what happend I would love to know.

I am in a state of shock and totaly mystified. He was totaly normal this morning. Nothing different from normal. He had driven beautifuly this morning and now he is gone.

He was a 1 in a million, soft gentle kind unflappable lad. It looks like it was all over quickly.

Thank you for reading this. Writing it has made me feel better. It hurts like hell because I have had him since he was weaned.

Oh dear Lord. You poor thing. What a dreadful shock for you. I can't begin to imagine the horror and feeling frantic at finding him dead like that.

RIP Clyde.

OMG how awful, Im so so sorry for you. What a shock it must have been. Take care, am thinking of you.

What an awful shock for you!!You must be devastated!Have no suggestions really other than getting a post mortem done??!Sorry for your loss!!

Similar thing happened to my 4 year old a few years ago - found him dead in the field, but no marks, no mud on his knees (so he had literally just gone over sideways), no marks from kicking out on the floor, no dung, no blood

I didn't bother with a PM, just put it down to a massive heart attack. Sorry you have had to go through something similar.

How shocking for you.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hope you find out what happened.

RIP Clyde XXXXXX

Very sorry indeed and what a terrible shock for you. I hope you find out why, as the not knowing must be agonising. It does sound like it was quick and for that we must be grateful. Please accept a ((((hug)))) on our behalf and may he now gallop free..........

R.I.P. Clyde

So sorry, I expect it was a heart attack and PMs can be very expensive and what good would it do
I can't imagine the shock to your system ,you must take care of yourself as shock can make you ill later.
I am terribly sorry

What terrible news. Can't imagine how you are feeling right now. I can only think it would be heart attack but am no expert. My thoughs are with you at this very sad time.

Similar thing happened to my horse 4 weeks ago. He was absolutely fine the day before, his usual cheeky self. They (he was out on loan) found him dead in his stable the next morning. He had eaten all his dinner and hay and there was no sign of struggle so it didn't look like colic. Devastating though as he was loving life and in great condition and it was totally unexpected. I think it must have been a heart attack.

R.I.P. Clyde and big hugs to you xxxxxxxxxx

OMG I'm so sorry to hear that, you must be really shocked and upset. I'm sorry I haven't got a clue what it could be unless a heart attack.

RIP

I am so sorry, I cannot imagin what you are going through right now. It must have been dreadful finding him like that. My thoughts are with you. RIP.
