I am so sorry sammi, what a tragic way to go and so young. he looks such a lovely lad. You will carry his memory with you forever, but for now, let yourself grieve.

Sometimes you can't find the words to let you know how sorry we feel, and this is one of them.
I am shocked and so sad for you.
Poor Twiggy, at least she will have company, horses understand what death is when they are involved so she might be a bit depressed for a while.
That was sheer bad luck for that to happen, and such an awful experience to have to got through.
He looked a lovely chap...
 
I'm so sorry, I've lost four horses so I know how you feel. My five year old TB/ID had a compound fracture of his tibia. If it helps any, whilst Miki was stood waiting for the vet to arrive to put him to sleep he appeared to be in very little pain with his leg. The adrenalin that was coursing through him counteracted the pain and he seemed really calm, with his ears forward. When he saw me he whinnied a little. He was not distressed. Please give Twiggy some Dr Bach's Rescue Remedy or Star of Bethlehem which you put in her drinking water or on her tongue. It is completely natural herbal stuff and it will help her through this time. You can get it from all good chemists. Good luck and if you want to PM me to chat please do.
