Thanks everyone for your kind words. Jake was a very special lad. Placid, gentle, quite literally the easiest dog to live with, ever. The sofa looks very bare without him and the kitchen floor empty, he was a constant shadow to my OH and is very sorely missed. My biggest fear was not being with him at the end, due to COVID, but the vets were great and he drifted off with his head on my knee in the boot of the car. RIP old fella, you have earned your place in the heavens. ??
