My partner lost his little rescue yesterday morning
She hadn't been herself over the last month but metacam and some rest and she turned into a young dog again. Nothing untoward showed up on her blood tests really.
At the weekend she slept on our bed, stole scraps from our table (!) And was running around like a lunatic
Yesterday morning she couldn't get up and we assumed back legs had gone. She was rushed to the vets and they did blood tests and it came back with very worrying results with very very high white blood cells. The vet did a quick scan and there was a large mass all around her abdomen and was in her liver and starting to affect her kidneys. Probably cancer.
We could have operated but at 14 and having a wonderful last week with everyone she was put to sleep with her favourite person by her side.
RIP my little rogue. I'll miss falling over you and giving you extra naughty treats. Sleep tight little one.
