2 weeks ago I had a little pony put upon us suddenly. We took her in as one of our own, although the owner did come and see to her too. My 2 mares just added her into the bunch, particually Juno - she adores little ponies! (After the initial fright of WTF is that re Tilly's grazing muzzle!) Turned out Tilly had a very sore stifle and a bit of lami too. The stifle was very painful for her and although on medication the prognosis was poor. Tilly was also apparently 30, but I did a quick look at ger teeth and might have taken a few years off that!
Bless her, she was so sweet and super friendly with the children.
After finding her lying down this morning and reluctant to get up, but a polo did make her!, the owner agreed it was the time.

So, this afternoon, with the sun on her back, a carrot and a polo in her mouth, she was led to the gate where the huntsman had been called was waiting. All over very quickly. It was so sad, and even worse is the fact that Juno is looking for her.
I didn't know her long, but plenty long enough to know she was a kind pony and had many stories to tell.
So, here's to Tilly - all 11hh of her!!

Now, I hope more than ever that Juno can have the new foal as her 'baby'!! (see my other post!)
