Unfortunately today is the day that our yard cat Molly had to be put to sleep. From what I can gather she was in her late teens but up until two days ago she was still hunting in the long grass but she went down hill and tonight when I got there she was in a bad way.
I first met Molly when I moved my mare onto the yard in 2001, we left in 2004 but came back in 2007 and was pleased to see Molly was still around. I got my own cat in 2006 so I started to bring Molly any treats my cat didn't eat. I then had to start bring her her own treats as she would come running to me every time I arrived.
My horse was good around her and had no problem Molly coming into her stable or walking around her while she was standing outside. One of my fondest memory was from last winter when we had heavy snow. I had just mucked my horse out and Molly come running round straight into my stable to go to the loo as the ground was so hard, she was desperate.
RIP Little Molly Cat
