Born into this world a month early on easter sunday with the snow outside was when I first saw you, so tiny and beautiful, but also so poorly. We stayed up for 48 hours to milk my mysti and feed you every hour for you to get your strength and be able to stand up for yourself. You fought against all odds and stood proud and tall for your mummy to see.
Only knowing you for a few days we could all see very quickly that you were gonna be a very special baby in more ways than one and we decided to call you Forrest (after Forrest Gump) and not long after you got the nickname Gumpy.
As soon as you were strong and well enough, we took you outside to see the world and you bounced everywhere, never walked. You couldn't care less about your mummy, always running off leaving her shouting at you. So inquisitive and nosey, there was always something to see and do. I would play with you for hours in the field racing you up and down, bouncing around.
4 months down the line your mummy got poorly and you had to be weaned early. She had to be PTS shortly after and you became even more special to everyone around you. It was a sad day but Mysti lived on in you and your brother!
You grew bigger and bigger every day and I'm sure you were the biggest yearling out there, so big and stunning. Over the months you grew poorly and started to struggle with life and you stopped bouncing everywhere.
None of us quite knew what was wrong with you in the end but we knew you were too poorly to carry on and had to let you go and be free elsewhere out of pain and back with your mummy.
We only had a short 17 months together but they were the best 17 months I could of asked for. You made me smile no matter how I was feeling and all your special ways always made me laugh. I wish I was saying goodbye to you at the end of a long fulfilled life but unfortunately you were too good for this world am I am saying goodbye to you now !
I cherish every moment we had together, you were one in a million and I will miss you so much, my beautiful baby. Good bye my sweet Gumpy xxxxxx
