At 9:30 this morning my darling Dennis breathed his last breath.
It was a very peaceful end for my very special little horse who came into my life nearly 19 years ago as a rescue case.
Dennis has had a fab life with me and I feel honoured to have had such a special lad in my life for so long.
Den wasn't expected to last more than a few weeks when I got him as a neglected 3 year old but my little man had one hell of a heart and went on to be unbeatable in his jumping days and later when I had to stop jumping because of spavins used to do a fab Elementry often winning against the big flashy neds. He has also been lucky enough to have enjoyed a happy retirment, one that he truly deserved.
There is so much I could write about my little man but I feel so empty right now.
Unfortunatly Dens joints have been getting worse despite being on alot of pain killers, he was also diganoised with cushings in the summer and in the latter weeks has been droppping weight despite all the effort myself and my vet could offer him.
Sometimes no-matter how many drugs you give and how much love you provide you are unable to stop the pain.
Dennis went with the digniaty he deserved.
He fell asleep with his ears pricked and a polo in his mouth.
Give your horse an extra hug from me and Den.
RIP my little man. See you on the otherside.
