Our beloved golden boy was put down today, aged 28, after 12 blissful years with us.
He was my eldest's first 'big' pony, beautiful, safe and fun. A super PC and event pony, his passion was hunting and he did 20 seasons or more. Unhappily he retired with limb and lung problems, but a cocktail of remedies could not wipe the years away. We knew he would struggle with another winter, and our vet agreed we should not wait for a crisis. It's often said, and is true, better too early than a day too late - I believe this was the right time.
All his best days were with hounds and it was right that his last journey was to kennels. We're so grateful to our huntsman.
Goodnight my lovely, and thank you xxx
