Oh my god..i never thought the day would come when Pepsi would have to go. she was pts today at about 4.15pm.

Shes was nearly 19 and shes all ive ever known...im 20. she went though everything with me, came up 2 bed with me every night..such a class wee dog. everyone in the village that i live in knew her so well. she used to run down to the football pitch and steal the ball from the boys that were playing there. she went everywhere with me. mum says that when i was wee i used to toddle along with pepsi at my heel.

she loved having stones threw for her....her teeth were barely there cuz she would sit and chew them. she was a class footballer..she used to head the ball and dribble it along. my brother used to bring her to play all the time.

i remember the time Downtown Radio came to my village. they had like this huge roadshow thing. my older sister was up on stage playing some marshmallow game and up i toddled onto the stage with pepsi behind me. Pepsi used to chase her tail non stop so with all the music and all she started doing it.it was so funny...they gave me this downtown radio mug and pepsi was nicknamed the dancing dog lol.

sounds silly i know...but i hope she doesnt hate me for making the decision. she was just so lifeless and had such sad eyes, she had no will power anymore.

she only really noticeably got frail about a year ago. i thought she was invincible...

I lost a special friend today
the kind you can't replace,
and looking at her empty bed
I still can see her face.

I know she's in a special place,
Where meadows, fields & flowers
help make them strong and whole again.

I know she's watching over me
She'll be with me when I cry,
So with one more kiss on her beloved head
I told my friend goodbye.

RIP Pepsi xxxx

Big hugs, a very brave and selfless decision. It was the best thing to do, and I'm sure she'll thank you for that.
It sounds like she had a fantastic life

Don't feel bad for doing the best thing you could have done for Pepsi at the end. The last kind thing we can do for our much loved pets is to let them go peacefully before they suffer.

Hi guys...

thanks so much for all your kind words...i know that it was the best thing i could have done for her but i find it really hard to get my head around it all...im so used to seeing her everyday. she just slowly deteriorated, it was so sad to watch.

im just in from burying her in the garden. i buried her with a little ball and a couple of stones, what she loved! im keeping her lead and collar...any ideas of what i should do with them?

again...thanks so much for ur words...so helpful

What an absolute sweetie, you must feel so sad. This may sound really soppy but it made me feel a lot better when I did it..................my best buddy Murphy the cat got run over 18 months ago and I never had the chance to say goodbye so I wrote him a letter telling him how much I loved him and missed him and was sorry I couldn't keep him safe and I put it under a stone on top of his grave. I felt like I'd really said goodbye then.
