Just heard that Peter Mentieth took his own life last night - a real loss to Scottish Racing - and the racing world in general. RIP Peter

Have just read this on teletext - in shock! Condolences to all his family, friends at to everyone at Whitebog, but in particular to Lisa.

A huge loss to Scottish racing.

I knew Peter about 30 years ago when I lived in Edinburgh.

I am shocked to read about his death.

Absolutely shocked to hear this sad news. I met Peter many times, while at race meetings. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I agree it is a very sad affair. During his time in training, Peter Monteith trained some very nice horses. Condolences to his family and friends at this time x
