RIP Poppy

Our beautiful foal Poppy died today in her field. Born 5th July, 2012 died 5th September, 2012. We are totally devestated.

Thank you everybody. We have no idea at all what happened. We wondered if intruders were involved as some fencing was down etc so the police came but there wasn't a mark on her & we have all concluded that it was most likely natural causes.

Poor little thing. I know she struggled when she was first born - sometimes when babies have a problem with an internal organ they manage for a while and then it cannot keep up as they grow. But you gave her the best chance and she was cared for and loved for the time she had.

Just looked at your happy photos of when she was born - such a sweet little thing. Sometimes, these things just happen and we never know the reason why.

I am so so sorry for your loss. She was loved and well cared for whilst she was with you, and never knew fear.

So sorry to hear this. Losing a horse is hard enough but when they are so young and perfect it is hard to make sense of it. I hope your mare is OK.
