Arrived at yard this afternoon to find the two year old beautiful coloured colt in field neighbouring mine with the most horrific injury,he had broken a front leg and the bone had come clean through the leg-on tracing hoof marks back seems he had been having one of his customary roars around and must have slipped-shear freak accident. Amazingly he was stood eating hay as if nothing was wrong-horses sometimes amaze me!! his owner had bred him herself from her mare and he was truly stunning with the most amazing action-he would have made a wonderful dressage horse.my heart goes out to her and her daughter tonight. unfortunately no body was able to pick him up tonight so not looking forward to going up in the morning-i will miss him coming over to say hello as he usually did when i go to feed mine.hugs please for his poor owner-he was a lovely boy-RIP REMY

Im so sorry for that poor baby and the poor owners. RIP little boy . Life i so sad sometimes

sorry to hear this , a shame esp when a young horse. If its any conselation my firend years ago lost her pony when he shattered his hock. The bone went through the skin and for various reasons he couldnt be saved. He remained happy and eating until pts. Vet said that the damage had severed nerve endings so pony didnt know anything was wrong and happily eat his last feed. Hopefully from what you said remy also didnt feel anything.

RIP Remy, & ((((((hugs)))))) to his owners

I lost one of mine to a freak accident on christmas eve, so understand what they are feeling.

this is exactly the reason i would rather my boy be a menace in the stable than risk the silly fool doing anything like this

How very sad, I know how it feels. I lost my mare to a broken leg in the field 4yrs ago, similar sounding accident only was her back leg. RIP little one. x

Exactly the same thing happened to a little horse of mine in December - the nerve was severed and the injury, although catastrophic, at least caused no suffering to the pony. She too, was eating happily and completely unaware...

My very, very deepest sympathy to his owners.

A terrible shame and so young. Life is really unfair

May they both gallop together at The Bridge.

my 5 year old horse was put down a year ago last november. We found him in the feild with his leg just shattered. My dog actually found some of his bone in the grass. He was in deep shock. They couldn't pick him up that day so he had to say on the yard over night covered in a tarpaulin.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the owners it a horrible thing to happen

RIP Remy gallop free from pain over the bridge

xxxxx
