RIP Schmeichel

I didn't watch it, decided wasn't brave enough.:( Did you know EB of Rosehurst fame was responsible for sourcing the original Schmeichel for Corrie, bit of trivia there for you.;)

I have just watched this and am ashamed to say it made me cry:o how sad am I,
must admit I truly am pathetic when it comes to animals dying even on the telly.

I cried. Its all a little to close to home as we are currently unsure and awaiting an mri to see if our newfy will have to Join him up in the sky.
Very well written and handled i thought x

I'm the only one that was appalled at Chesney's selfishness then and wanted to slap him?

TBH, I was surprised how quickly he came around to it in the end, I expected it to go on and on for longer than it already had which is not what you want viewers to think is acceptable when an animal is in pain.

Well I watched it in the early hours of this morning,(damn insomnia :() I think the fact that everyone was encouraging Chesney to pts was good, and if it makes one pet owner think twice before prolonging a terminally ill pets life then its done some good. I did notice the vet seemed to inject Schmeichel into the bum rather than iv, but thats just me being picky.

I thought exactly the same thing! Not quite sure how he managed it!
I do think it tackled the subject well though.
I did spare a thought for people who had recently gone through having a dog pts, it must have been very sad for them.

That's why I didn't watch it when it first went out, only lost my girl in July. But decided I would risk it in the early hours, when I wouldn't set the rest of the family off. I actually managed to stay composed, whereas when I watched Marley and Me just before Buffy was pts I was a snivelling mess.:(
