My lovely wonderful soulmate died instantly Tuesday night of probably an aneurysm. This is my obituary for him.
To my best friend and soulmate Scooby
My darling bear, I can't bear to write this obit as it's breaking my heart to do so. I am angry, I am devastated and I miss you so so so much. I am glad I was with you, and for your sake you went quickly and knew nothing of it. But I never got to say goodbye or to tell you what you mean to me. I never got to look into those big brown eyes and tell you to wait for me. But I know you are here with me now. This is your story Scoobs and I hope I do you justice.
I went to see a litter of puppies as I needed a big guard dog for the stables and your breeder bred for the police force. When I went into the room you came straight to me and laid down on my lap and looked up at me. That was that! You were mine. A week later I collected you and you did the same thing and stuck to me like glue. All the way home you never took your eyes off me. Guard dog my ass, you guarded your mummy and nothing else! Your continued to do this for 9 whole years. Wherever I went you went. You even learnt to open the toilet door when I was on the loo. Jamie's friend is still traumatised
You and I have been through everything together. You have never left my side in all our time together. You have been my world. You have comforted me when I have felt there was no-one else in the world who understood. When I had an operation two years ago you led me by the hand to the toilet and back again, you brought me water from your own mouth and food (it was a nice thought but yuk yuk). You laid beside me keeping me warm.
When you were 3 you seriously injured your back and had to have major surgery to remove discs in your spine. It really was touch and go. The vets said you needed intensive care and would be away from me for at least a month. Your determination to come home was so great you were on your feet walking within 8 hours - you chewed through the supporting sling and walked. You are I slept together for a month. Best £9,000 I ever spent to have you walk again.
You slowed down and over the past year and when we got Honey in June you fell in love. You had got your very own supermodel and a new lease of life. You slept together, were always kissing and cuddling each other. Your grew cheekier and told her to steal you things and became a real old git. I laughed every day at your "can't hear you attitude" and the way you snuck into the lounge when daddy was here and turned your back. You really thought that if you couldn't see him then he couldn't see you.
You have given me 9 years of absolute pleasure and love I have never ever felt before. I will probably never feel love like this again in my lifetime. Utterly loyal and devoted with an unconditional love. You are my soulmate and I miss you, and will miss you every day of my life. I don't know how I am going to carry on without you guiding me. I would give anything for just another hour with you so I can say goodbye to you properly.
Sly and Gemma will be waiting at the Bridge for you. Go find them my handsome bear and tell them I love and miss them as well. Tell Sly to be nice to you. Wait for me because one day I will need to feel your breath on my face and your kisses on my lips. One day we will be together again Scoobs. Come and see me sometimes and let me know you are ok. Honey misses you but I am going to get her a friend. She will never ever ever replace you in a million years, you are priceless Scoobs and forever in my heart.
