Bloody tragic. What an awful thing to have happend. I'm so glad that the YO was able to bury the mare. It's the hunt's point to point on Sunday, but still I'm appalled that they wouldn't come and get her.

What tragic news, worse than my loss yesterday, and that is bad enough. best wishes to the owner.
RIP Silkie and foalie

We just assumed they couldn't come and get her until Monday because it was a weekend (and she was already dead)
I was more shocked at the fact the vets told her to wait 6 days

Yes , exactly how I feel about Sol . I've been given the chance to say goodbye to know everything is ok up until the end . I can't even imagine what that poor mare went through last night . Horrible

I am so sorry for you and the owner but most of all for Silkie and her foal. ABsolutely tragic for everyone.

But also shocked at the responses from the hunt and the vet. I find it unbelievable that they both said what they did, and I would be very angry.

Hugs to you all ((((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))))

How awful. Such a tragic thing to happen.

Mares and foals can bring so much joy, yet sometimes so much sadness as well.
My mare lost her first foal 3 years ago and we were lucky not to lose her as well because the foal nicked her uterine artery on the way out. She is ok now, but it has put me off from ever breeding again.

Please give Angie my condolences at this sad time. She must be devastated.

RIP Silkie and her baby

What a dreadful thing to happen and for someone to have to find. Poor Silkie and her poor owner

We lost twins two years in a row but at least the mare was ok.
I am so sorry, RIP sweet mare.
