my little 'mixed salad' was put down yesterday evening. I knew it was on the cards but didnt realise that it would happen so quickly. Tess was a little stray who took over my life-she was always there when she was needed...3 months on my bed while I recovered from a broken back. Tess has gone and I feel naked...my shadow has gone for ever. Tess had an op a few months ago to remove a tumour and all went well. The last 10 days or so saw her go down hill in a terrible way. Her little body was full of new tumours and her lungs were filling up with liquid. The vet was very kind and did what he could but his name isnt 'God'. Tess had a dignified end and was buried next to her best friend 'Mava'. Im going to plant a tree on her grave and Im going visit the local kennel and bring home a 'grannie' to live out whats left of her life here with me.

Aww, Mairi, so sorry to hear that

RIP Tess xx

Big hugs to you Mairi. I know what a dreadfully empty space they can leave behind. You see and feel them everywhere.

I'll be thinking of you.

I lost my dog a week ago unexpectidly and for no reason so know exactly how you feel she was my little baby and as well used to follow me around xx

I know how you feel. I lost my beloved Holly on 29th of october. I still miss her terribly but i know she is now in a better place. She too had cancer and we only found out 5 weeks before she died. My thoughts are with you

rip holly and tess

So sorry for your loss. We lost our big girl Emmy on November 29th but were only able to bury her on the 10th December. I'm still sobbing my heart out on an evening when looking at her photo or looking at the rug she used to lie on. My heart goes out to you. We would love to have another rescue dog as she was from the dog's trust but our little lab is aggressive with other dogs so we're getting a couple of Lab pups in January to try and give a lovely life to another two of the precious creatures. Bless you for taking on an old soul - they will be so happy to have a loving home. XX
