Thanks for all the vibes guys.

Sadly Tweenie lost her fight for survival a couple of hours ago. Utterly shell shocked. I cannot believe it.

Colic surgery revealed she had large areas of inflammation in her gut, but no blockages, twists or impaction.

As she came around from the GA she had a seizure which left her blind, pathering and totally unaware of her surroundings.

The vets took the only humane option which was to PTS.

The cause of her problems are still a mystery. A post mortem is being carried out tomorrow, more for the sake of the remaining horses in the paddock than for anything else. We need to know if it was caused by toxicity.

The electric fence had been damaged which fences off the oak trees. Not sure if any horses had gotten under the oak trees to eat acorns, but it can't be ruled out yet. Vet thinks it was unlikely really.

Have moved the other horses, just in case.

Feel numb. We've owned her for five years and she's never been sick or sorry in that time. Tough as old boots, until today.

RIP Tweenie Beanie. You taught the girls well and we were all blessed to have known you. Sweet dreamsxxx

Just got to break it to the girls now. Not looking forward to that. Here they were, during the summer holiday. Isobel jumping her first ever fence on Tweenie, Hannah leading. Best friends.

So sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you with your difficult job of telling your girls. I have had to do this when our cats have died and the first time was terrible. I can only image how much worse this must be for you with your pony.

Oh god C that's awful news I was so hoping she'd pull through. Massive hugs on there way to you all. You know where I am if you need to talk, let of steam or just cry

Fingers crossed the PM shows what caused this.
RIP Tweenie gone but most certainly not forgotten.

I can't believe it Patches, it all just happened so fast

You did all you could for her, and she was so lucky to have such a wonderful life with you.

Lots of hugs for you and your girls xx
