It's a sad but happy post. Poor Weedy has gone through so much in his short life and it was time to call it a day. He was given every chance possible to become just a field friend, but unfortunately his growth spurts hampered the operations he had on his legs. He has seen this summer and was in good spirits, so enough was enough and before he started to get depressed or get in pain the decision was made for him to sleep. So RIP little one and play with the others of your friends who are waiting for you in the sky.

it's always a hard decision to make but at least we can make the decision. He was well loved and had a lovely life and we tried to make it as comfortable as possible for him. Well he will be enjoying himself now on rainbow bridge and will probably me making a mess of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Thanks for all of your kind words

He's probably tried to eat the pot of gold by now, and is dragging St Peter around on the end of a leadrope...

RIP Weedy, soppy boy. Glad you had one last summer stuffing yourself with grass.

How how awful, what a dreadful day for you. I hope the sun was shining for him and you. Far too young, but he's now making lots of new friends up there.

We knew it was going to have to be called as he wasn't getting any better this summer and was starting to get worse again. It was hard but at his age it would not be fair to keep him going just for the sake of our feelings. He will be up there with all the others over the years that have been released from this earth early for good behaviour.
