My sister lives in USA and yesterday had to have her 7 yr old chocolate labrador pts.

I never met Winston in real life, but I know that he had a huge personality and was a fully paid up member of their family. My sister has 3 sons in their late teens, early twenties, who are absolutely devastated, especially as the older son could not be there yesterday when the vet visited as he was hundreds of miles away.

He went downhill so fast too. It started only 3 days ago when he was limping on one foreleg, then the following day he could not put his paw to the floor properly and was limping on it with the paw turned over. They took him to the vet who said he had a tumour on his spine which was pressing on some nerves. They decided to take him home with meds so that their elsdest son could have a chance to get home to be with him, but yesterday he could not stand at all and was disinterested in everything around him. The vet visited my sisters home and put him to sleep. They will get his ashes back shortly and bury them in the garden alongside their previous dog's ashes.

RIP Winston and also Zak who they lost 8 years ago. now you can run free together. X
