I haven't posted in here about my beautiful boys Scoobs but today I have the worst news.
About 20 minutes ago, my beautiful boy, collapsed and passed away.
I tried to bring him around, even did mouth to mouth but I couldn't save him. He'd had a bath not long ago and I can't help thinking its my fault, what if I scared him?

He was only 5. His dog groomer has rang me in tears and said he was the happiest bouncy greyhound she'd ever met and she is as heart broken as me. I'm just gutted.

I loves ya Scoobs.

Im sorry for your loss, he looked so happy in your pics.

Is it possible he had a heart murmur/heart disease ? I had a little terrier a few years back who came in from a walk and promptly collapsed and passed away.

I currently have an ex racer greyhound who has heart problems, the only signs where a cough and being slightly huffy. .

I thought when you posted on FB that it was probably heart related, it was so quick and I really don't think there was anything you could have done? I am absolutely sure that giving him a bath wasn't a problem.

Run free lovely Scoobs xx

I am so sorry for your loss he looked a beautiful dog.

Im not a vet but my first thought was DCM which strikes dogs down just like yours, its quite common in Dobermanns and other large dogs and is not unknown in Greyhounds. Im on a fb Dobe page and quite a few people have lost dogs to this, its very sad, some have been younger than yours and have just come completely out of the blue. Please dont blame yourself as Im sure having a bath prior to this would not have made a difference. Hugs to you. x

Thank you all. Hearts broken and I'm completely overwhelmed. Never cried so much over a dog.
The most annoying backwards Greyhound I have ever met, barked at everything and everyone, told us exactly what he did and didn't want. My poor baby.

Want to take him to the vets in the morning because I need to know what happened.

Thank you all xxx

I'm so sorry you have lost your beautiful boy. I'm sure it was nothing to do with his bath, it's more likely he had a heart problem you weren't aware of.

RIP Scoobs

(((hugs)))

Thank you all again.
Feel awful this morning, went to go and get his breakfast and he isn't there. I hate not having him around. Or any dog for that matter. :( :(

I'm so sorry :(
Our Rottie girl passed away peacefully in her sleep last night. She was 11yrs old. I feel lost, still going to the door to let her in, our little Daisy-dog aged 1 is whining for her and looking for her. I said I wouldn't cry. It's really hard to swallow.
RIP to all that have passed x
