My dressage saddle is needing a bit of padding out to make it fit B and I'm a bit unsure which option to go for. I could have had it re-flocked but it's not B's saddle and reflocking it would mean that it wouldn't fit the horse it was made for.

Are there any pros/cons that makes one option better than the other?
All I can think of is that a riser pad would mean I'm not limited as to when I can use my dressage saddle whereas a numnah would have to be washed every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance

The numnah is more flexible - ie you can add or remove padding to make it a perfect fit, the riser pad is one size only.

Although neither are ideal to make a saddle fit - especially a dressage saddle where you are expecting the horse to work correctly along its back.

I had a really useful prolite pad once that you added shims to to get 3 different thicknesses.
But gutted that some thieving tyke at a livery yard nicked it

I have the le mieux one with the felt pads you put in. I really rate it and so does my saddler, you can adjust the thickness and it dries very quickly as you just take the pads out and wash it as a normal cotton saddle cloth. I wash it at night and it's dry the next morning.
