Hope it settles soon. Does she stand in the lorry happily as remember doing that with my previous horse years ago when the stable was about to take off at Newark.

Shout out to my amazing horse!! Such a laid back temperament. So many horses were completely freaking out.

Plus day 1 was fab! Nervy start in class 1 but what an experience!! A famous name commentator saying ‘and next up AE who’s had a fantastically consistent season with this ISH mare’ etc. ok so I know this sounds absurd, but it never occurred to me that commentators have the BS records on screen so can see the horses breeding and all the comp results. When I’m at HOYS I assume the commentators just know all the riders 🙄😂

Lottie took everything in her stride. Not fazed by the crazy collecting ring rearers, the music, the atmosphere. There really weren’t many clears. 8 faults in first phase in the 80, so no jump off phase. Totally my fault. I was sooo tense and buried her at the double.

Then a much more confident, attacking round in the 90 for 0,4. I rode how I wanted to ride: forward, with jump off turns! No playing it safe. And she responded brilliantly. I think I underpowered the canter at the 1 she had down, but finished about midway down the class anyway.

I’m absolutely buzzing. What a fab horse she is! Does everything you ask of her, in any discipline, so happily and willingly. So, so proud of her.

It’s 4 am. Walking the course at 7:30. Perhaps better get some sleep! 😀

Just 1 class on day 2. She was jumping a great round till I came off the wall to the treble. Never jumped a treble before! First element was off a turn with 2 straight line strides - exactly what I’d practiced in a recent lesson. But in that moment that new learning evaporated and I underpowered the canter, she chipped in at the first, and it was game over from there. She managed to get over first 2 safely but was never going to make the third though she still tried, bless her. So, so honest!

Accumulator tonight. Should be fun!

All done! Time to party. Lottie was a star. Jumps were massive. Way bigger than the 90 on Tuesday. Technical too. After 40 riders there were only 3 clears! Had some poles but I rode positively and she jumped everything. I lost the line to the last fence but by the time I realised where it was, I’d lost the rhythm and canter looking for it, and I just stuck my hand up to retire rather than make her get going again to jump it. She jumped the 2nd to last beautifully. Nailed the treble!! So, so proud of her. What a week.

Now to get ready for the ball!! Casino night😎🍷🥳
