Robert Pickles at Hoplands

I've been to a couple through my RC and I thought he was really good, he gives you feedback on what mark he would give you for each movement. I really didn't realise he was quite so camp, and I giggled when trotting round and he says get with the beat

This is so funny! All I remember abotu Robet Pickles is when I worked at Wellington Riding doing my AI. He used to go mad at the students and was sooo funny! A very good instructor though and did always mean well, he just wanted us to all do better. The things that he sad were pretty funny though some people used to cry more than laugh!

Hi Burtie
Ive just been to the two day one at Hoplands last Thurs and Friday and it was brilliant..never had a lesson with him before but he was great, really nice and naturally made my lad look super when he rode him the first day!!..second lesson was excellent and he really worked us well and had my lads canter really shifting...went with 3 other mates and we all had a super time and the facilites at Hoplands were fab..we even managed to get a quick loop of the new gallops on Friday morning as the weather was nice before afternoon lessons!!!...have just re-booked to go on the next two day in April as its too far for us to do just one day lessons...as you can tell I really enjoyed it!!!

He's very very good - had a couple of lessons with him before now (could do with another one ~makes mental note~ )

Very funny, makes you work hard and you come out asking a lot more than you went in with.

Hoplands is well worth going too - new owners are making some very good changes to it

Robert Pickles is a fantastic instructor. He really fills you with confidence that you are more than capable of doing anything and he puts even technical things in such a simple way he's really easy to understand. (Even my non-horsey OH understood what he was saying much to my annoyance after the lesson when I got a lecture for taking ages to get something right!)
