Went to Robinsons near Haydock at the weekend.

What has happened?? Sports direct now own it and IMHO its certainly gone down hill.

The upper floor clothing section is now downstairs and consists of a few racks and upstairs is now full of trainers!

I'd heard anything Mike Ashley touches turns to rat"*%! and it appears Robinsons will be no different.

I thought I'd missed something whenI found out over the weekend that Sports Direct own Robinsons. I was trying to buy something online, the website wasn't working and when I went to email customer services.. a sports direct email address.

But when I googled it, it turned out that SD had in fact owned Robinsons for years.

Glad to know it wasn't just me that missed that. I don't buy from SD on ethical grounds. So I suppose that's my fault for not being more sure what other companies they own. Now I know...

Me too was driving past the other day and needed a few bits (and a wee stop) and thought what has happened here. It hadn't been great for a while but you could still pick up some bits and pieces, wouldn't be going back.

I've never been a Robinsons fan on the basis it's mainly low end tat but the fact it is in the Sports Direct stable means that I absolutely will not shop there on ethical grounds. Need to find another good cheap mane and tail spray- the only thing I actually bought from Robinsons.

I've been there a few times over the years and I don't ever remember it being a nice store. By nice I mean well stocked, well organised, pleasant staff. It's always been like a Primark for horsey things.

I went last weekend and was very disappointed. It has been well and truly Sports-Direct-ed meaning you can't bloomin' find what you're looking for, or a member of staff.

I only went because I couldn't get the leadrope I wanted (for a photo shoot, please don't judge ;)) from my localish saddlery. From now on though I'll just go there, or have to shop online if it's really specific.

This store hasn't been the same since in burnt down years ago and they rebuilt it as a 'megastore'. Doesn't matter when you go they never have what you want. Even down to things like black plaiting bands. i don't bother going anymore and its literally 20 mins from us. Shame
