Does anyone have any suggestions for a really robust 3.5 tonne box? I have an Equisport box at the moment and it's fine but my gelding is rather hard on it and is slowly trashing it or remodelling it as he would say! Thanks

Yes, it is great! I would not have a 3.5 as my horse can be rather "athletic" ;) until I saw them at Osberton a few years ago.

I have the Professional version, with no breast bar. They were great and custom made mine with a higher ramp so if he bucks when the top doors are open his legs remain INSIDE the vehicle :D It is still bright and airy, with bars at the top so he can see round, and a small seat and wardrobe at the back. He can also exit out of the back if I should need to in an emergency. I had the ramp behind the driver so the spare partition could be fitted with a toilet and tack locker.

I ended up spending more than I originally intended as they were so good at custom making that I changed a lot. Now it is a FAB JayCar, easy to use, could not ask for more.

I like your description 'athletic'! That sounds ideal my gelding doesn't buck but he occasionally really gives it a good kick has a plunge : o I think a trip to Nottinghammight be in order!

Mine's a Bloomfield build on a Vauxhall Movano. It drives beautifully and every horse I've had in it has travelled brilliantly as it's so stable. It seems sturdy enough although all the horses I've had in it have been calm, well behaved travellers so I've never really had to test it's robustness.

It is well worth the trip, you can look round the factory and see the various stages of build, get ideas off other boxes, and they have a demo one too. They got me a fantastic deal on a new chassis, as I needed automatic as I have a duff left hip;)

I recommended them to a friend, and they sourced her a FAB second hand chassis, and she is delighted with hers too.

We have a Boss which is a brilliant box and my big boy is very happy in it. He was a bit destructive in my old lorry but is very chilled in this. I don't think you can go wrong with a Boss or Bloomfields.

we had a equi-sport horsebox built for our "then" stallion, i knew he was a bit of an idiot to travel so had it reinforced for him, he litterly double barrels the backwall, paws the front and its taken upto his stupidness, so you could always ask them to change bits to suit him. Weve had him gelded now and he travels fab but in his younger coltish stage he was a nightmare (hence the reason for gelding)
