I mentioned him in a thread a while back and promised to post photos once he arrived. I completely forgot, and I've been nudged about it by a couple of people, so here he is in all his canine glory...

He's 12 weeks old now, photos span from when he first arrived (blue octopus) nearly 3 weeks ago to today.

He's charming, daft and adorable - I hope the photos are entertaining because he is!

Naww JFTDS, he's gorgeous. I shouldn't have opened the thread, I'm now very collie-dog puppy broody.

What's his name?

Thanks guys! He is a lovely little chap. He's so smart - he picked up house training within a few days and already has a decent vocabulary. He's also good as gold in his crate. I mean, don't get me wrong, he has his moments, but he's pretty cool <3

I'm sorry for those who are envious or collie-broody. I've been waiting a very long time for this little chap (I had a dog-aggressive lurcher in the house who wouldn't have taken kindly to a room mate, so I had to wait for him to come to his natural end), so I do understand.

Rocco!

Ah, excellent! I did read the thread title a few times because I felt like the name had to be in there somewhere, but my brain wouldn't compute. Too much working with Americans maybe - I'm now no longer able to distinguish legitimate names from random words

In fairness, it's not the most intuitive thread title!

He's named after an Italian rapier swordmaster in the 16th century, Rocco Bonetti, who came to a sticky end (I hope his namesake doesn't!). He has to be able to fit in with my weird medieval reenactment friends ;)

He's lovely. The man down the road has just got a collie pup. He's always had one or two collies. He's in his late 70s but still very active. The pup is similar to yours in looks. Shes super clever and her owner will train her in no time but for now shes still on lead and excitable around other dogs. His previous dogs have been beautifully mannered. Lovely dog and I bet yours is too. I hope you have many years of enjoyment together x
