Oh dear, I shouldn't have looked. They're lovely. Can someone please remind me that I'm much too old for a rocking horse before I make a purchase shouldn't be making?
It’s even better than that, an original GJ Lines, which predates the Lines Bros soortyboy. If it’s a Sportyboy, winner, winner chicken dinner ?
Basically I’ve ‘rescued’ a beautiful but very battered GJ Lines horse that has been dated as around 1880.
He is in dire need of restoration but I’m terrified of handing him over to someone who won’t do the job as well as something like this deserves. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.
Thank you so muchI have just checked. Look up Holmebank rocking horses on facebook and you will ffind him in oz. Say Rhythms owwner
I have always wanted one, but being a bungalow is full I had to go for the bow rocker. She had to have a new bridle made as her old one was dry and disintegrating. She has no name but she was a xmas present a few years ago. Meet my girl in her hired transport , I forgot to give her a haynet whoops.Bit of a long shot, but is anyone here knowledgeable about antique rocking horses?

Invent a sob story and go on The Repair Shop. Call me a cynic I'm sure half those things have no family connection at all and end up on E-bay.

Exactly which is why I’m so worried about getting it wrong.Julia Plotkin is marvellous.
Be very careful - there are lots of ‘restorers’ out there who do horrid garish jobs. With an original GJ Lines you want to get the right person
