Rockley and navicular

Reading the rockley blog I have learnt that navicular can be reversed. Has anyone had any success taking there horse barefoot and off bute. Have you got complete soundness and returned to the same level of competition. My horse hunted, did novice level dressage and be100. Did you do it at home or send to rockley. If so what did u feed, use for tracks etc, hoW long did it take. Thank you so much.

He has had no further changes in 2 yrs and is 12.

It can be reversed :) Xrays from my horse last Aug are on my blog (link in sig) and also on the Rockley blog.

My horse was diagnosed almost two years ago, I made the decision pretty quickly after traditional shoeing and injections didn't work and he went down to Rockley in Nov 12. He was sound within 8 weeks and has been sound ever since. He's been back home since Feb 13 and is kept on a standard part livery yard with no track or anything - just normal field and stable routine! He is currently eventing at BE80/90 level, show jumps, dressage, fun rides, you name it we do it.

He is fed copra, unmollassed sugar beet, alfa pellets, linseed and I add oats in the winter if he needs it. Supplement wise he is fed equivita, cal mag, salt and turmeric.
 
I had a diagnosis 3 years ago in October. Whipped the shoes off, sorted the diet and was sound in 8 weeks also like leg end. He's not and never was a competition horse, but I'm doing the same now as I was before. Again like Leg-end, I am on a normal livery yard, 24/7 turnout in summer in at night in winter.

I feed a handful of Hi fi molasses free, salt, mag ox, linseed.

Wow, what a result. It isn't always that simple! Mine came out of shoes in January and despite all singing, all dancing correct barefoot diet, is not able to be ridden without boots yet. And he hasn't got navicular.

OP, best to get in touch with a trimmer who has rehab navicular horses.
 
Yes mine was diagnosed at 7, tried egg bar shoes for 2 years & Tildren, got her sound but intermittently so whipped shoes off Sept 2010, Rockley January 2011 (did not transition well) and sound on fronts ever since. I keep her at normal livery yard, out 24/7 in summer and feed linseed, Fast fibre, Forage Plus, yea sacc, CalMag and she looks amazing and is back in full work.
