I've been reading blog posts and histories the past months.
Curious - the case studies stopped in 2021?
Tks.

Hi yes I started my barefoot journey 4 months ago, and thought the rockley farm case studies were extremely helpful but again never heard anything or found anything online since, I can only assume they have now stopped?

Thanks for your reply.
I guess the blog stopped?
That would be such a shame.
If anyone hears anything please update.

I too would be interested to know. Someone asked this question on Rockely FB page about 6 months ago but got no reply. Strange blogposts should just stop part way through rehabbing a horse.

Thanks for your reply.

I don’t think they advocate trimming at all. The rehab horses are on a track and self trim.

If you're on Facebook, it's worth looking at the Barefoot Rehab for Navicular group. The admin visited Rockley and follows the same approach and it's US based so you may find like minded people nearby and tips on good feeds available in the US

It's a private group so you'll have to ask to join.

It is strange that they just stopped without any further update - having been quite vocal and 'topical' on the subject . But of course they are entitled to do as they wish and none of us are 'owed' an update .

What a strange thing to say 🙄
I followed their blog for years, so sorry that they’re not rehabbing anymore

Not strange at all - Rockley is owned and run by a private individual who, while they shared a lot of useful information about their work, never posted about their life outside work. I don’t think their reasons for no longer doing rehab are our business, although we’ve probably become so used to various social media posters being very open about their personal lives that we’ve forgotten that!

ETA - if you follow Rockley Farm on Facebook or Instagram, you’ll see that she’s still managing her own horses in the same way as she has done since she started the rehab…along with plenty of beautiful photos of Exmoor 😍

Rockley Rehab was a business. It is odd to simply stop a business without making any announcement of why. The blog simply stops in the middle of ongoing rehabs. I would expect, knowing their ages, for them to have retired. But it's still odd not to have said "we're retiring, bye" and even odder not to answer a direct question whether they are still doing rehabs that someone asked on Facebook.

I thought it was odd too. They don't need to go into any personal detail at all, but it just seems to end. No closure, or just a general, "Due to various reasons we're no longer doing this anymore. It's been great. Thanks" type of thing. They don't need to post anything about their life outside of work, so they can stick with that theme. It was a business that was rather public though. Sure it was owned by a private person (as are many businesses and other ventures), but they were public with what they were doing regarding their business. So for it to just end is...abrupt.

Granted we're not entitled to any info, and it is none of our business (as are a majority of things in life, really), people are free to ask and wonder. It is a bit odd.

Take a look online at the Cavallo Barefoot Trim. It is a video made by the Cavallo team and a farrier takes you step by step through a typical barefoot trim, explaining the whys and wherefores as he goes. My trimmer recommended it to me during lockdown, when she wasn't able to visit.
