Well after the attack at the beginning of the week ... it's been, well not much fun!!!
We ended up taking Rocky to the vet, there was more damage than we initially thought and quite onbiously needed a good clean up and some anti-biotics. They shaved his neck and there were several rips, tears and puncture wounds
MIL and i fell out about us taking Rock to the vets - apparently i totally over-reacted, vets are purely 'money makers' and it's all a big 'fuss over nothing'. OH asked for money towards the bill (£60 for treating neck, £85 with flea treatments) and she told him he wouldn't see a penny as there was no need for him to go in the first place!! (not what the vet said!) Vet obviously asked how it happened - so we told him!!!
MIL is obviously letting Diesel out whilst i'm at work as i have seen him once since it happened! He now has absolutely no contact with any other dogs as i won't let her re-introduce Rock to Diesel and he was the only dog he could go with anyway.
I have had OH's sister in my face this morning, telling me i'm out of order for upsetting MIL, she's had her on the phone in tears apparently. As you can imagine i told her where to go!! I was quite blunt with her, told her a few home truths - and told her she needed to do something other than lock him away in her kitchen away from society or i'd call the RSPCA myself! MIL is still of the opinion Diesel is 'protecting his territory' etc etc, basically just making excuses! So, as i thought nothing will change, wonder who or what he will attack next?!
It certainly won't be me as i'll be calling either MIL or OH's brother EVERYTIME i want to go to the washing line, garage, my car or drive in or out of the yard - i'm not risking it with him, too unpredictable!! Call me dramatic if you like but i like my skin where it is, not wrapped around Diesel's teeth!!
It's very awkward here now to say the least!! But Rocky is getting better and healing reasonably well so thats all i'm worried about! Not a great loss having to ignore her!!!
