Hello All,

So after being given the worst news from AHT and having my loss of use accepted with E&L (who have actually been ace through all of this) I am about 2 weeks away from having my horse put down when someone recommends that I contact Roger Meacock...

Obviously I want to give my horse every chance possible but I can't quite comprehend at the moment how a horse can be fixed by one man but is classed as broken by one of the leading vets in the country.

Does anyone have any experience of using Roger, what were the outcomes?

Diagnosis from AHT is chronic damage to both hinds, chronic damage to left fore and arthritic changes to left side of sacro illiac joint.

Please help,

Terri

sorry I've not heard of this man but what have you got to lose?

Also, what does PSD stand for?

Your right, not much really.. however I thought if he is not worth dragging my poor girl across the country to see then I wouldn't bother :O)

PSD is proximal suspensory desmitus aka it is suspensory damage, in my case on 3 out of four legs :O(

I have used him for my dog. He advised chiro for wobblers and it worked as opposed to the standard vets suggesting myelogram followed by surgery. So good result for me. I havent used him for a horse. I would definitely recommend talking to him to get a different point of view. He also treated me with scenar!:D

Have you googled him as he has a website which has a bit about psd I think

There you go!

Sorry, no help on the Roger Meacock question. Not really sure what PSD entails but would steroid injections into the joint have any affect? I know you can have an injection into hocks and the sacroilliac joint itself. There was an article in H&H magazine all about arthirtis and joint pain etc and possible treatments but I do not know if this varies from the condition you mention here.
