I got to Forest Edge at 2pm and they had only just finished the British Novice
I have never seen so many lorries on a Friday and a poor girl had fallen off and needed and ambulance so I knew i was in for a long wait
Roger finally got to jump in the 1.10m open which they ran as a 2 phase to speed things up.
He jumped a swift double clear and came 3rd
He then went in the 1.15 / 1.20m handicap and was last to jump. I had my fingers crossed for him cos the course was quite strong and no one else had jumped clear.
He jumped a lovely round and was clear right up until the last fence when the little begger just ran out at the last stride
Me and his rider couldn't see why he did it and it's not like him at all? It was a plain parallel going towards the gate and wasn't the biggest fence on the course ??
To be honest I thought he had it it the bag when he was clear coming down to that last fence so that'll teach me !!!
So the class was won by 4 faults and the second money prize on 8 faults
Roger finished right down the line cos he had a pile of time faults as well as the refusal
Cheeky monkey better not make a habit of it
Did anyone else go ?? It's getting really popular there now with all it's new facilities and the courses are smart and build up to height now
