What do you think of this bridle?

And do you think it would suit my mare?

I think it's a lovely bridle (have a similar one myself

) But that seller has a bit of a patchy reputation.
I was once bidding on a bridle just like that one and the day before auction was supposed to end, it disappeared. Possibly because the price wasn't anywhere near the 80pounds or so that particular bridle usually retails for..

I was thinking a rolled bridle might suite prospective new chap but I have to say that is not quite what I think of as a rolled bridle.

The ones I saw had a rolled throat latch and headpiece to. I'd call that one a half rolled bridle or have I got it wrong again?

Now this is what I think a rolled bridle is

But it is lots more money.

to be honest i dont like rolled bridles on anything other then an arab and even then only on some arabs!

I think you have to be vary careful as rolled nosebands in particular can make even a very fine horse look common and thickset. My gelding has a much finer head than yours, he takes a pony sized noseband, but rolled leather made him look like he was a draught horse!!

Sorry - I dont think its going to suit the mare, as said in previous post the mare would suite something with a bit more substance.
The very fine rolled bridles tend only to suit arabs.

I don't like the noseband on this bridle. It would be fine as a cavasson, but not as a flash. To do the cavasson part up tight enough to stop the flash pulling it down wouldn't be very comfortable for the horse!

I am not sure it would suit your horse either. Sorry!

No problesm with people comments.
I actually liked rolled bridles but must say I didn't realise is wasn't completly rolled!!
I was also unsure if it would suit my horse. She does look quite chunky in that pic but is finer in real life.
Think I'll wait a while to see if I really need her in a flash before I go ahead and splash out on a flash bridle.

I think the design is awful and would be completely ineffective as a flash or uncomfortable.

The noseband in a flash bridle needs to be a snug fit to stop the flash pulling it down over the nose. If either were tightened on the that bridle they would concentrate the pressure in one place making the bridle uncomfortable, the only alternative is to leave them loose which would make the ineffective.

Dressage bridles have chunky padded nosebands for a reason.

The whole flash attachment comes off so you can use it as a cavesson. See what you mean that it wouldn't be very effective as a flash.

I love rolled bridles, but it does depend on what type of head you put them. I have one on mine, but i did buy it from Equiport, think it cost me over £320 with the rolled martingale!! Very expensive but everyone comments on how nice it is.
