Does anyone have experience of this? It is just one hind limb, unshod hinds and toe has been rolled over the last 6-8weeks due to it being dragged and not lifted properly. Is this normally a sign of a problem in the pelvis ?? Can you give me your experiences pls?

i went to a lecture at my vets and they said that can be a sign of oesteoarthritis (sp?). They said the toe dragging usually means the bone has fused.

Obviously im not saying thats what your horse has but its just something to think about.

My cob does this sometimes and it can also be a sign of EPSM type problems, probably lots of other stiffness type issues too. Hope you get t the bottom of it .

If your horse has suddenly started doing it, you need toget a vet to look at him. I would be especially worried as he is not doing it evenly - I think you said it was just one limb ?

My own horse suddenly started to drag both hind toes two days after tripping badly. It turned out she had a neurological problem.

Hi yes it is just one side bigred. Thx for advice I will be getting vet just wondered if others had similar issues etc including diagnosis and treatments.

I have similar issue atm hence comment re stifles. Hoping ours was caused by poor farriery... Low heels. Both bad but one worse than the other.

PM me if you want to discuss and compair as if the Chiro doesn't resolve we'll be getting vet in next week to start investigations.

Does it get better with bute?

Hiya, I manage it through diet and exercise. There's lots of info on EPSM diets if you have a google.....have a look for Beth valentine and dr Kellon.

Hi ok will have a look dilbert thx. Giddyupgirl I haven't tried in bute yet, I thought after chiro itay have improved so wanted to see. Thx for help. Let me know what vet says re your horse, I found it odd how it's just one which made me think more an injury/impact - who knows what they get up to on the field haha!

Hi thx for replies. Re the suspensory did u have a scan and then vet recommend rest as treatment? Or something else? What about the bone spavin what was your treatment regime pls?
