Hullo, the D rings on my lunging roller are too small for me to use my equi ami, and whatever you may think of them I'm bloomin' well going to use the thing at least once! The rollers EA sell on their website are out of stock in full size at the moment - what do you use? I don't have a lot of money. Does anyone know if the Shires one would be big enough?

Thanks!

Won't that stop it running freely

No idea, just popped into my head. Our roller has rings big enough for the lines and clips to pass through easily. But the OP could try it, and if the lines are catching, then they know to buy a new roller. There wouldn't be any harm in trying the twine though.

The whole point of the equi ami is that the lines run smoothly back and forwards through the metal ring absorbing the swing fron the horses hind end and so preventing the pull ending up on the horses mouth I just can't see that happen through twine .

I have an Equi Ami and my old roller was not suitable either, rings too small. I found one with bigger rings on eBay, cost £12, so I would recommend you having a look on eBay. Good luck.

Can't comment on whether carabiners would work, but I can confirm that a Shires roller is fine with the equi ami. If you try any DIY modifications to your existing roller, do be sure that the lines will run completely freely, as if they get caught up in use it could panic a horse.
